Spatial center line of the track
Spatial center line of the track is a set of points on the track axis clearly identified in the project by positional coordinates and altitude. If these spatial coordinates are relative to an absolute reference coordinate system, it is the absolute position of the track.

Determining the spatial centre line of the track
The Measuring Trolley GG-05 is part of a system for determining the spatial center line of the track using a Topcon/Sokkia Robotic Total station with automatic prism tracking and auto-pointing with intergated special Windows CE program Rail SURV and PC program RAIL + for processing of measured data, inserting projected axis and evaluation deviations of the measured position of the axis and the design axis.

Mechanical construction of the trolley
Main parts of the trolley are made from resistant aluminum alloy, which after assembly creates a lightweight but very robust construction. Driveable wheels and the parts of the truck ensuring isolation between rail strips are made from POM C isolating materieal. By changing of the extention part the trolley can be adapted for use on the tracks with various gauges.Normal Trolley assembly takes less than 5 minutes.

Sensors
An inclination sensor with a range of ± 350 mm and an accuracy of ± 0.5mm is used to measure the Cant of the track. A linear sensor with range - 25 mm to + 50 mm and an accuracy of ± 0.2 mm is used for measuring the Gauge measurement. Measurement of distance is performed using an incremental encoder to a distance of 4500 m from zero.

The control unit
GG-05 is equipped with a new compact control unit with a powerful processor. The control unit processes data from integrated sensors (tilt sensor, linear sensor and odometer) which is then sent continuously and simultaneously to all communication ports. The control unit is equipped with SS radio, Bluetooth and serial port. The data obtained by undertaking the operational calibration is stored on the control unit and measured gauge, cant and distance are corrected before being sent to the communication ports. The control unit also contains the case for the battery and radio and Bluetooth antenna. The control unit can be very easy removed from the trolley body if neccesarry.

Terminal of control unit
The trolley control unit can communicate with the terminal, which is an integral part of the trolley. As the terminal can be used PDA devices with Windows Mobile operating system. The manufacturer's recommendation is Topcon‘s FC-25 controller. With the built-in Trolley CE program the operator can carry out operational calibrations and measure and store geometric parameters of track, gauge, slope and chainage.

Communication
Data measured by the trolley is sent simultaneously to all communication ports and can be simultaneously received and stored via radio or LongLink BlueTooth at the total station, using a Bluetooth connection to a Windows Mobile Data Logger or with Bluetooth or serial cable to a PC.
